When I die I want to be reincarnated as your dog. What a good life Jim is experiencing, seeing so many places, sniffing out new smells and being so completely loved and adored

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse! You have both coped with so many problems & steep learning curves this last year - well done. I learned that I could cope with almost anything in the year my house was flooded & took a year to restore, I had to have a pacemaker fitted, & Dave died. So bad experiences can lead to good outcomes.

However, with my magistrates hat on - have you kept a list of all the things that have been wrong with the boat? Do you have records of all your costs? How do the problems match with the survey you had done & what the seller told you? Because it seems to me from your blog that at least some of the issues should have been obvious to more experienced people than you both were & you should have been informed. In some ways the boat doesn't seem to have been "fit for purpose" & should be covered by the "Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Obviously no one wants to go to court, but this history really doesn't seem acceptable to me as a completely non boating person. You could ask Citizens Advice.
